Ambleside Football Club was formed in 1896. Currently playing in the Westmorland Second Division, we play at Hillard Park, Ambleside.
This season we will be playing in the 2nd and 3rd Division.
Ambleside football club is setting out to raise £60,000 to build an annexe to its Clubhouse, which borders Rothay Park and Miller Bridge field, Hillard Park.
The Senior and Junior clubs have recently acquired a new tractor, with the support of an FA grant. This requires a flood resistant, secure home, along with the clubs’ training equipment. Additionally, the build will incorporate solar panels which will help generate power to the neighbouring Clubhouse building as well as an EV charging point.
With sixty senior players signed on, Ambleside United has teams in the Westmorland 2nd and 3rd divisions, and 65 young, enthusiastic players coming up through the five Junior teams competing successfully in the local junior league.
The club prides itself in being a long standing part of the local community and is keen to develop links accordingly. The fund-raising will include approaching local businesses, charitable organisations and individuals for cash donations, sponsorship and raffle prizes. Tickets are currently being sold for a donated Garnacho(Man Utd) signed shirt.
The sum of £15,000 from Club reserves has allowed work to start. Much of the build is being largely undertaken by club players and ex-players and if the fundraising is successful the build should be completed by the end of the year.
